How did the Ottoman and Mughal empires administrative approaches, characterized by respect for and accommodation of ethnic and religious diversity, create a more natural and inclusive governance model compared to the often uniform and centralized systems of modern nation-states, which can lead to the marginalization and suffering of minority groups? We do have minority rights in democracies but still minority groups are often targeted for their beliefs and practices as compared to these empires where they have greater autonomy to practice and even have the right to govern themselves on the basis of their own customs and laws.

The problems of ethnicity existed in every era. Incidents of discrimination can be found in the Ottoman and Mughal era, too. The masses are required to learn the respect for diversity. The democratic countries which have learnt it are more peaceful. It is not just democracy which turn around the people, but the democratic values which make the difference, and these values should be taught in an effective way.
