Concerns About Diyat!
“Assalamu alaikum, I’m concerned about the Islamic principle of Diyat, which is the payment of compensation by a killer to the relatives of the victim. Does Islam suggest that one can simply pay money to atone for a serious crime like murder, without facing any consequences?
Furthermore, if someone has never been questioned or judged for their sin in this life or the hereafter, can they just commit murder and then pay the Diyat amount without it being considered a sin?
If someone has a large amount of money, equal to or greater than the Diyat amount, can they use it to kill someone and then avoid accountability for their actions?”
