Validity Of Salah When Struggling To Grab Tissue From The Tissue Box
Assalamu Alaikum,
I was praying Asr alone.
While standing up from the 3rd rakaah to the 4th, I tried to get a tissue from a tissue box but I struggled a bit. So I was already standing in the 4th rakaah but my arms were not in place. (My right hand was trying to grab the tissue and I forgot what my left hand was doing). Also after I got the tissues, a tissue fell on my foot and since the tissues that I was able to grab wasn’t sufficient to wipe my nose, I quickly knelt down to grab the tissue and quickly stood back up to recite al-Fatiha. Is my Salah valid?

In your situation, your Salah remains valid. Here’s why:
1. The Action of Getting Tissues: If you had already completed the standing position (Qiyam) of the 3rd rakaah and moved into the 4th rakaah, then your Salah was still valid. Any movement or action that doesn’t involve a significant delay or interruption usually doesn’t invalidate the Salah.2. Tissue Falling and Quick Retrieval: If the tissue fell on your foot and you needed to grab it quickly, this minor interruption doesn’t invalidate the Salah as long as it was done without excessive delay and the primary actions of the prayer were maintained.
3. Standing and Recitation: After you picked up the tissue and returned to the standing position to recite Al-Fatiha, as long as you continued the prayer correctly and didn’t engage in actions that would invalidate it, your Salah remains valid.
In general, minor disturbances and necessary actions that don’t involve prolonged interruptions typically don’t invalidate the prayer. However, it’s always good to strive for focus and minimal distractions during Salah.

As an etiquette, one should try to stay as much focused in their Salah as possible and avoid any kind of distraction. However, violation of these etiquettes do not render salah invalid.
