  • Staying Fearful Due To Past Sins Even After Proper Repentance?

Ghamidi sir said in a video that one should not just repent and consider the sin forgiven as God has said He will forgive the sin when He wills. But the fear of chance of past sins not being forgiven haunts me to a great degree even though the chance of it being forgiven is much greater when I have properly repented and done my best to make improvements. I also don’t forget the sin as I know keeping the past sins in mind and keep repenting them will help me not commit them again. But what’s this fear actually about? Is it the fear that my past sin might have not been forgiven yet or is it the fear that I might slip again?

God has told us that the sincere repentance removes all the sins even if the sins are major ones. If they are not major, they are forgiven even without repentance if one avoids major ones.

God is Merciful. He is not interested in punishing people.
