Quran 23:3 – Laghw In The Context Of Painting & Creative Activities
If you are creating something like a painting, or working on creating something that may end up being useful and increasing knowledge but the primary purpose is enjoyment, does it come under laghw? If one does that, is he not eligible for the Firdous paradise because Quran 23:1-11 says the believers who stay away from laghw will enter Firdous paradise?
Is Creativity Just For The Sake Of Pleasure Laghw?

hello there o want to know that what exactly is the definition of laghw and lahw, some ulema say like hanafi ulma that laghw is anything without benefit

Laghw generally includes activities which are morally objectionable even in a slightest manner like cursing or morally objectionable discussion and jokes etc. Entertaining one’s aesthetic sense through creation or painting is not a useless activity at all and neither is it morally negative in any form. Besides, if there is nothing morally objectionable in the activity being done, then there is no objection on the activity itself.
