Does The Quran Mandate Hijab And Niqab?
I am making a YouTube video where I argue that Surah An-Nur, Ayah 31, instructs women to use their veils or headcovers to cover their chests. Since the Quran uses the term khimar, which was traditionally a headscarf for women in that region, and only specifies covering the chest, it does not explicitly require women to cover their heads. Therefore, I suggest that the Quran does not enforce a strict dress code, and that practices like the hijab or niqab emerged more from patriarchal influences than from Quranic requirements. Is my argument accurate, or am I mistaken?

This is right. However the argument of head covering and niqab comes from the verse 33: 59.
