If Iblees had admitted that he was making a mistake by not bowing down to Adam (pbuh) and that it was difficult for him to do so, and then if he had asked God for help there and then saying “I don’t want to bow down to him and I need help so that I can do so”. Where does such a case fall? Would he still have failed the test?

What I really want to know is what if someone has self-control issues and although tries and repents but is not changing, that whenever he is tested, he fails although pushes himself not to do that and then also repents and asks for help? Does God approve of this based on the scriptures?

This is not a habitual or chronic for Iblees, not to bow down to others. It was his arrogance and he chose it.

Apart from his example, if one is weak, one must keep resisting one’s sinful habit and learn self-control. The stronger the belief in the hereafter and accountability makes one forsake his sins.
