  • Do Loose-fitting Trousers Count As Imitating The Opposite Gender?

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuh,

I go to a Muslim school with male and female students. We have school uniform but the design for the trousers is the same for men and women. The looseness of the uniform is not mentioned by the dress code. The trousers that I have & wear are loose-fitting. And I recently realized that it’s usually the females who have loose-fitting trousers (Not all of them wear loose-fitting trousers, but most of the students who wear loose-fitting trousers are females). The males don’t usually wear loose-fitting trousers.

Does this count as imitating the opposite gender? What should I do?

The cultural norms decide whether a dress is male or female-specific. When there is no such specification about a dress, it can be worn by both genders or anyone who prefers to wear it.
