Paying Credit Card Annual Fee From Savings Account Profit
Salam,
I’ve reviewed existing questions about credit cards but they don’t answer my question.
I signed up for a credit card with the sole intention to gain access to airport lounges during my travels and to gain points with a reward system. I always pay my dues by the due date so have never had to pay interest/penalty/whatever.
This card however, has an annual fee of 100 USD. I pay this fee using interest/profit I receive from a conventional bank savings account. The rest of the interest/profit, I gave away to charity.
Question is, any food or drink I consume at these lounges, is that halal?

The food and drink you consume are Halal.
If you agree with Ghamidi Sahab’ stance on the bank profit arising out of Savings Accounts, then it is recommended to not use that profit for your own personal good. You should give the whole profit away in charity. However, this does not effect the status of food and drink asked in the question.

So, to clarify, are you saying that I shouldn’t even use the bank account profit to pay the credit card’s annual fee of 100 USD?
Or can I pay that annual fee and then disperse the remaining profit in charity?

Yes, it’s better to not use bank account profit to pay credit card’s annual fee.
Ghamidi Sahab admits that there lies some room for a person to do a personal ijtihad otherwise, where one can benefit from that profit or a portion thereof based on the time value of money argument, but he personally does not recommend this.
