Sabbath And Genesis
What is the illat behind the injunction of the Sabbath on the Jews by God? They say that it’s a symbolic expression of the seventh day God rested after the Genesis of the heavens and the earth.
In Islam, this view is derided. Then how come we yet have seven days when Allah created the heavens and the Earth in six days and ascended to His Throne?

The translators must have mistranslated from or added something to the original text that told that God completed His intended world creation in six days. The seven days of the week is an ancient division of the week. Both have nothing to do with each other, as God’s days are not our ordinary days. He tells in the Quran that His some of His days are equal to one thousand or fifty thousand days of ours.

How far is the view correct that Friday is the representative of the last cycle in which the creation of the universe was completed? It can’t be since Friday is the fifth day of the week rather than six.
Other than that, you overlooked my first question regarding the reasoning behind the Jewish injunction of the Sabbath?

A week of special worship is a ritual God ordained for Jews and Muslims, who share the same religion. The prophet said that it has always been Friday, but Jews changed it to Saturday, perhaps due to the difference in calendars with other nations. Different nations made different days as the first day of the week which changed the numbing of the days. For God, it is always Friday for worship.
I am not sure about the authenticity of the traditions that tell that the creation of the world was completed on Friday. If it is, still they show the divine days, not our ordinary days.

Considering the sacredness of Friday, is it any sinful for a Muslim in a non-Muslim country where there is no way that the leader of the country will lead salah and orate khutbah, to not go to the mosque and read Zuhr at home?

An individual is not responsible for what others do or do not do. A person is obliged to do whatever is in his or her capacity.

You mean that since the leader of the nation isn’t holding Jummah prayers, the average Muslim is not obliged to go to the mosque and read Friday prayers. Rather, he may read Zuhr at home?

Yes. All he has to do is to worship God. He still can worship Him. He can say prayer of zuhar at home or in the mosque.
