    Aoa Ghamidi sb.

The Government of Pakistan has a program in place called the Hajj Muavneen Program under which every year the Government sends a Hajj Mission to Hejaz to assist the Pakistani Hujjaj. This Mission includes doctors and civil servants among others. The Muavneen have to stay in Hejaz and assist the Hujjaj for the entire duration of Hajj. They also get to perform Hajj alongside. Their journey to and from Pakistan along with boarding and lodging is fully sponsored by the Government in return for their services to the Hujjaj.

Since Hajj is a farz and a ‘maali ibadat’ also and has to be done from one’s own resources, does the Hajj of these Muavneen be considered as fulfilling the religious obligation of Hajj or will they have to perform another Hajj out of their own pocket?

    Kindly clarify.

    Shukria.
