القرآن – سورۃ نمبر 9 التوبة
آیت نمبر 36
ترجمہ:
بیشک مہینوں کا شمار اللہ کے نزدیک بارہ ہی مہینہ ہیں کتاب الہی میں (اس روز سے) جس روز کہ اس نے آسمان اور زمین پیدا کئے ۔ اور ان میں سے چار (مہینہ) حرمت والے ہیں ۔ یہی دین مستقیم ہے سو تم ان (مہینوں) کے باب میں اپنے اوپر ظلم نہ کرو ۔ اور لڑو مشرکوں سے سب سے جیسا کہ وہ لڑتے ہیں تم سب سے اور جانے رہو کہ اللہ متقیوں کے ساتھ ہے ۔
According to this aayat, Earth has 12 months since it’s creation, but we known that solar and lunar calendars differ and calendar is a human construct.
Secondly, Lunar calendar year used to be longer when the moon was close to earth 4 billion years ago(around 18 months).

It means since the beginning of the creation God had decided (written in His book of Taqdeer or decree) that there would be 12 months out of which four months would be sacred for the pilgrimage. This arrangements took place when when human beings reached that point in time.
Quran is not a book of science. Its purpose is not to tell us about scientific facts but about God and His religion.
