Provide the reference please.
On the other hand, there are traditions which contradict that. It seems that the narrator misunderstood something.

the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): “Whoever touches his private part, let him do wudoo’.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (181) here

There is another hadith which contradicts it. Abu Dawud 184

Only one of them is right. hadith No. 184 is in alignment with the religion and logic. Touching one’s private part doesn’t involve anything najas. Therefore it doesn’t break Wudu. However if it is for sexual arousal only then it it breaks wudu.
