In Surah al hashr 59 verse 7 God is telling us to take what the prophet saw gives and abstain from what he forbids.

And there is a hadith in bukhari saying leave the beard and trim the mustache.

Also the companions never cut their beards except behind their fist length.

So my q is ; how does ghamdi sahib reconcile this?

I watched a video where he explained that this command was probably to show how to keep a beard and mustache if someone wants to grow it. But from where does he get this evidence? It was their tradition yes but there are no reports mentioning any companion trimming and cutting even more like we do now a days.

    Can you clarify this?

    Jazakumullah khair.

Ahadith need to be understood in the light of Quran and academic insight should be applied to understand Ahadith and their context because Ahadith lack their context and real intent behind any saying of the Prophet (Sws), whether it was an advice, a directive, an encouragement etc. and how all of this connects with the Quran, which is complete and absolute.

Ghamidi Sahab has applied his insight on above points and explained it in the following series:

If this does not make sense to you, then you are under no obligation to agree with everything Ghamidi Sahab says. You are however obligated to follow your honest understanding of religion.
