I’ve come across two hadiths—Abu Dawood 4718 and Sahih Muslim 203—which mention the fate of the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ parents. Given that his father was from Ahlul Fatrah (those who passed away before the message of Islam reached them), how should these narrations be understood? Does the concept of Ahlul Fatrah not apply in this case, or is there another scholarly interpretation that reconciles these hadiths with the broader principles of divine justice?

Committing shirk, associating partners with God without any evidence and logic is a violation of Fitrah, therefore, one is answerable to God for violating the guidance of Fitrah that is innate to all humans. God has informed us that He took the confession from all the souls that He is their Rabb and then He sent them into the world to test them. Due to this guidance of Fitrah everyone is answerable to God for having faith in God.
