If ramzan was enough for creating taqwa and god consciouness then what made muslim ummah to move towards movements like tasawwuf and mentality of focusing on earning rewards using dhaif and fabricated hadiths ?

The purpose of Tasawwuff is not attainment of Taqwa but to see and experience God and the world of the Unseen. Purification of moral self is spiritual kind of purification for which meditation is introduced. On the other hand the Taqwa which Qur’an advocates is of conscious self, avoid wrongs in the practical world.

Jazakallahu Khair Dr Irfan sb. Everything now makes sense about those superhuman stories in sufism.

Can you please also elaborate about the root cause about why did scholars in the salaf times allowed weak hadiths and fabricated for spreading good deeds in muslims. So much so that I heard hassan ilyas sahab saying 50% of hadith are fabricated. Why did they not feel that ramadan is enough for creating taqwa in people ?

You can see today’s scholars show a similar approach and attitude toward weak Ahadith. When they notice people’s inclination toward such interesting stories, they use weak Ahadith to attract them to religion. The book Fazail-e-Amaal was written by a Sheikh-ul-Hadith, yet he did not hesitate to include weak and fabricated Ahadith.
