About Paying Ushr On Land
Assalam O Alaikum
Sir I want to ask you that we have land on lease and someone cultivate it and at the end of year he send us the money of lease due to my father death we have no one in house who earn and our family circle run through assistance from our Uncles so the question is that we should pay Ushr on the amount we receive or not and or this is the responsibility of that person who cultivate it to pay and we should not pay on our behalf

If he pays the Ushr on the entire produce, it should not be taken out again. However, if he does not, then you are responsible for paying it. The produce should be considered the “Usharable amount.” If you believe it only meets your basic needs, you are not required to pay Ushr, as Zakat and Ushr are obligatory only for those who are financially well-off and capable of giving from their savings.
