In what circumstances might a minor sin become a rebellious attitude and thereby becomes a devastating major sin.

    a) a person has become habituated to commit certian minor sins. He knows that they’re sins, feels very minute to no remorse, and neither tries to rid himself of those sins believing that avoiding major sins will ultimately lead to forgiveness of the minor ones.

    Is this rebellious attitude?

Take the example of traffic signals. It is a minor offense if you violate a traffic signal late at night when the road is empty. If you make it a habit, it is still a minor offense, though not good. So, the minor sins stay minor, making them a habit despite knowing they are sin, does not change the status until one commit them with a feeling of remorse, however if one assumes the attitude of a rebel, who does not care if the sin is major or minor, his minor sins are counted in his major sins.
