    Asalam u alaikum!

My intention was to keep all fasts during Ramadan. Unfortunately I couldn’t wake up this morning, had an alarm ringing but I stopped it and slept again. When I woke up Sehri time was passed. First I thought I will fast but then after careful thinking I decided not to fast. My question is in this scenario what is the right thing to do? Was I supposed to fast as my intention was last night to fast next day and also when I woke up I initially decided to fast? Or after careful consideration I decided not to fast as it would have been difficult for me to fast all day without drinking water.

Waking up before dawn is not necessary for fasting; if one misses the time, one can continue with the fast; however, if one feels that it would be unusually tough for him to keep a fast without a meal, he may leave the fast and compensate for it by keeping a fast after Ramazan.
