Ghamidi Sahab has clearly stated that The Quran does not, in any Aayah, allow the enslavement of POW. But at a Tafseer I read, there were Hadith citing that the 24th Ayah of Surah Nisa was revealed to make it clear that the Female POW came under “what your right hands possess” Also it says that it had been the practice of the rightful Caliphs.

People also quote that “Enslavement of POW was a common practice”and hence it need not be especially mentioned in the Qur’an, The Qur’an only cited two more options in addition to enslavement, viz Free them with good will or by ransom.

The free women who were captured were given options to marry a Muslim if they wanted. Otherwise they were set free against ransom or without it.

But sir, what about the Ahadith collected in At Tirmidhi, An Nasai, Ibn Jarir and also by Muslim that the Prophet Allowed to have intercourse with the captive women?

I am a bit confused. Ghamidi Sahab’s point of view seems very clear when we look at the literal meaning of The Quran, but then these Hadith confuse me as to what Morals is Islam talking about??

It was allowed with the slave girls who were captured, but not with the free women. They were offered to get married. This difference of the treatments with those two types of women capture in war is evident.
