This is a hypothetical situation to understand the Islamic ruling: Suppose someone has made a clear attempt to kill me but failed. Now I know with certainty that they will try again in the future. In this situation, would it be permissible in Islam to kill that person before they attack again, as a means of protecting my own life — especially considering that the person is very powerful — meaning they have the ability to escape legal consequences and pose a serious ongoing threat? Or would that be considered taking the law into my own hands and therefore haram?

It is not permissible to punish someone before he committed it, no matter what. Precautionly measures can be taken but you can’t kill him.

Thank you sir for the clarification. Just to confirm my understanding — even if the crime has already been committed (like an attempted murder), we must still follow the proper legal process to punish the accused, and we cannot take the law into our own hands, no matter how powerful the accused maybe. Am I correct?
