Sarkashi refers to a rebellious attitude often reflected in major sins. One should avoid exposure to indecent or vulgar content. However, it’s important to distinguish between romantic expression and obscenity—romantic poetry may appeal to one’s aesthetic sense, while obscene content is designed to provoke sexual desires and should be avoided.

But sir, if I say to myself that I like this kind of song, do I fall into the sarkashi category?

Sarkashi is only in the case of major sins like adultary, murder and shirk, etc.

Minor sins are forgiven even without toba because they are minor and it not always possible or is quite difficult to avoid them. So do not search rebellious attitude in minor sins. One one commits somethig like that one may hope to avoid it sooner or later and ask for forgiveness. That is enough.

sorry sir, i want to ask again

“do not search rebellious attitude in minor sins” So even if someone commits a minor sin continuously they don’t fall into the sarkashi category?

Yes. Minor is minor even if one does it consistently.

If I do them without asking for forgiveness like listening to inappropriate music so am I doing sarkashi if I do it without remorse of sin?

One can decide for oneself if one is that remorseless, it is then a condition of ignorance or willful negligence which may amount to a kind of serkashi.

So that anyone without remorse commits a minor sin repeatedly so then he falls on sarkashi? @Irfan76

@irfan76 Oh so that’s it sir, now I understand why many people don’t normalize minor sins but also don’t raise the degree to major sins. Because a small sin no matter how many times it is committed will still be a small sin.

It’s more of a mindset issue or psychological aspect, meaning it’s more about how someone responds to the small sin. For example, a child who does not want to obey his mother to tidy up his room, even though later told by his mother to tidy up his room again, he does not want to do it, this is a small sin.

If we normalize a small sin, it will cause big problems in the future. For example, if we normalize a child not to tidy up his room, in the future he will not listen to his mother at all and not only about tidying up his room but also in other matters (this is sarkashi).

But if a child only doesn’t listen to his mother about tidying up his room and still listens to his mother about other things, or he doesn’t tidy up his room just because he’s lazy but in the future he wants to do it, and to compensate for his bad behavior he also helps his mother in many other things (this is done so that his mother doesn’t get too angry with him). this is not sarkashi.

    Am I right sir? @irfan76

So basically you are trying to say that minor sin can be dangerous but unless major sin is committed minor sin is minor and if it leads to major sin then it is sarkashi?

    Right.
