Hadith is not cited in the post.

Once we establish a principle, an individual report cannot invalidate it. The report has to be interpreted in the light of the principle.

This is not a hadith but an Athar narrated from Ibn Abbas. Tafseeri narrations are supposed to be inauthentic unless proven authentic.

Correction: Tafseeri narrations are supposed to be inauthentic unless proven authentic.

If they go against a principle already established, then it has to be interpreted accordingly and if it is not possible, then it has to be rejected.
