Asalam u alaikum!
My question is if one joins in the 2nd rakah, does he need to read Subhanakallahunma in the makeup rakah?

One should offer the remaining prayer with the Imam. When the Imam completes the prayer, one should complete the rakah or rakahs they missed along with related utterances/supplications.
