What Does God Punish For, Rebelliousness Or For Impurity Regardless?
If I know I have ego problems and I want to fix them but finding it difficult because of internal conflict and asking God for help and I end up not being able to fix those problems before I die, will I still be punished for having impurity in my heart, according to what God has said in His scriptures?
I know for certain that if I become stubborn and rebellious saying, I don’t want to fix my ego problems, then I would expect punishment but I am having doubts related to what I said in the first paragraph

Everyone has ego which help us protect ourselves. Self respect comes from ego. Arrogance is condemnable which also comes from ego. If Yiu haven’t done any wrong to someone you need not to change it.
