Is There A Contradiction In Length Of Day In Quran
In the Quran, different verses seem to mention different lengths of a “day” in the sight of God. For example
Surah As-Sajda (32:5):
“He regulates the affair from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day the measure of which is a thousand years of your reckoning.”
Surah Al-Hajj (22:47):
“And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of what you count.”
But then we have:
Surah Al-Ma’arij (70:4):
“The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a Day the measure of which is fifty thousand years.”
How should we understand these differences? Are these metaphorical, contextual, or referring to different events? Is this a contradiction, or is there a reconciled explanation based on the context or usage?
