When Mahajar and Ansar starting living together, at that time People used to have only one hoojras. How did they accommodate their guests? I think women were living in their hujras and men were staying in the Masjid. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I told my husband that I am not comfortable living under roof with my brother-in-law. But he told me that when mahajar and Ansar came they all were living together in one hujras. How is it possible, please make it clear and let us know how they were living. Thank you so much, jazak Allah khairan

Hujra was a completely spacious house. They did not need to live in narrow houses. In Arab culture, the joint family system did not exist.

This is not the right approach to looking for examples to follow from the ordinary life of that time. We are asked to follow their example in the matters of Deen and ethics, not how they live there. They did not use electricity then, should we stop using electricity?
