    Assalam o Alaikum,

I run a short-term rental (Airbnb) where families, solo travelers, and couples book. To keep my earnings halal and avoid wrong activities, I made this rule:

If an unmarried couple is from the same city (e.g. Karachi), I don’t allow them, because usually their purpose is not genuine.

If an unmarried couple is from another city or abroad, I allow them, because their main purpose is accommodation or a place to stay.

    My questions are:

    1. Islamically, is it permissible to rent out to unmarried couples (local or from outside)?

    2. If they do anything wrong inside, am I sinful or not responsible?

If I completely ban local unmarried couples from coming then I find hypocrisy allowing abroad unmarried couples. But if I also ban international unmarried couples too, I lose a big number of customers.

Please guide me according to Shariah so I can run my business in a halal way.
