Ghamidi Sb’s Explanation Of Decree And Surah Hadeed Verse 22-23
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express some confusion and seek clarification regarding Javed Ghamidi’s viewpoint on Taqdeer (Decree).
According to his interpretation, Taqdeer is not about every event being fixed but rather about the outcomes that follow a person’s decisions. He suggests that if someone makes decision X, the ensuing event will differ from the event following decision Y. This perspective implies that individuals are largely responsible for shaping their own Taqdeer and are accountable for the good or evil resulting from their chosen actions.
While this view has its merits, I find certain aspects challenging to reconcile. Firstly, if blessings and curses are solely attributed to human actions, it seems to overlook the divine role in bestowing blessings, much like attributing misfortunes to human faults.
Secondly, Surah Al-Hadid (57:22-23) appears to provide a clear stance on Taqdeer. The verses state that whatever good or bad befalls us, or whatever benefits we miss, should not cause grief because it was already decreed by Allah. This suggests that everything is written in a register with Him, emphasizing predestination. Notably, Allah does not shift the blame for misfortunes to human actions but eloquently asserts that all is preordained.
I would appreciate your insights on how to reconcile Ghamidi’s interpretation with these Quranic verses. Thank you for taking the time to consider my thoughts.
Best regards
