Do we first need to believe that the Qur’an is the word of God, or should we read it first and then decide whether it is the word of God or not?
If we begin by believing, then naturally we cannot question anything in the Qur’an—because who can question God?
But if we read the Qur’an first, we may find many things that seem immoral or human in nature, such as learning through trial and error.
My question is: are there any other things, apart from the Qur’an, that people believe in without any foundation—whether reason, logic, past experience, or actual demonstration?

You should start with that Qur’an to know how it can be the word of God. Read it’s history. That how a book full of knowledge and wisdom came from a man who had no training in education, law, literature and history,. Then read quran of find anerss to your queries.

Respectfully, history tells us much more about this man as well.

For now, the question remains the same: do we have to believe first in order to understand the knowledge or wisdom?

If so, why do we need to believe first?

If not, then there are many immoral things in the Quran where we can only say, “God said so, so it is right.” And we can only say, “God said so, so it is right” if we believe first.

So, why must we believe first?

I went through this process and thus I may be able to guide.

    1. First you need to be a good human being trying to do good to others as you know good from inside you (perhaps not what others told you).

    2. Then you need to be searching for truth and questioning your existence and place in this universe.

    3. If you find yourself curious about your existence, search for the entity that created everything.

    4. Start by searching for the creator by looking into major religions through their authentic book (Not by what each religions’ believers say or do)

    5. Make sure their book is 100% authentic since the day it was revealed; otherwise reject it because it can’t be a word of god if people changed it.

    6. Once you find an authentic book, find a reliable and easy to read translation and research to your satisfaction to make sure the book is a word of god; not something that can be written by a human being. Once you gain confidence that it can only be a word of god..

    7. Then you have achived certain level of belief. To strengthen the belief, read the book to understand its core message. Initially just try to understand the core message and the shortest and simple path to achieve a successful afterlife.

I agree with the first three points.

So the question still remains: do we have to start searching for the Creator by first believing that it is the word of God?

If so, why should we believe first that it is the word of God?

If we read it first, there is tremendous evidence that it could not be the word of God.

Nadeem Sir, Which Quranic verses or paragraph made you gain confidence that it must be word of God?
