  • Not Fixing Software At Work For Job Security Reasons

If a person wantedly doesn’t fix software knowing that once he fixes broken software then the employer will see that this person has no work and hence terminates him. Hence, this person creates software problems that are not genuine i.e, he broke software wantedly so that the software remains broken and he is able to fix it and be in employment.

Is this permissible or halal to continue this type of work? Is the monthly earnings halal from this employment ?

It is cheating of course and not halal.

What about the fixes he applied to the software, can he remove those fixes before leaving the company if the employer plans to terminate him for any reasons(either truth or falsehood on employee just so that they can fire him) employer has in mind?

What is the status of intellectual fix done by the employee on the employer software? Can he/she remove the fix before leaving company because it was his skill and knowledge that fixed the software.

I am not sure what do you mean by fix. If the fix is the part of the job you can’t remove it.

Yes, Thank you! by fixing I mean correcting errors that stops it from updating and it is part of the job.
