Order Of Creation Of Earth And Skies
In holy Quran it is mentioned many times that Allah created earth “then” he raised skies, from these verses it seems that earth was created before heavens which is against modern science.
Some scholars like Zakir naik, sheikh Shabbir Ali and ghamidi student Dr farook Khan also says that here word (thumma) is used which does not necessarily mean “after that” , it can also be translated as “more over” or “simultaneously”.
I cannot find any ghamidi sahb video on this topic. Can you plz answer this

Nowhere Quran mention that the earth was created first and then heaven. In Surah Sajda (41), the words indicate that when the earth was there, heaven was there too. Note the words:
ثُمَّ اسۡتَوٰۤی اِلَی السَّمَآءِ وَ ہِیَ دُخَانٌ
It says that when God was developing the earth, the skies were there in the form of a nebula, and then He set it apart into seven heavens.

You mean According to Quran , during creation of earth Sky was already there, in the form of nebula,
This is but also unscientific.
Earth itself was created from solar nebula,
When earth was getting shape/form there were large numbers of stars , galaxies and nebula too.

مولانا مودودی نے یہاں یہ نکتہ بیان کیا ہے کہ لفظ سماء کس معنی میں استعمال ہوا ہے، اس کی قطعی تعیین ممکن نہیں۔ ان کے مطابق کسی ایک مفروضے کو بنیاد بنا کر سات آسمانوں کی کوئی مخصوص تشریح قائم کرنا درست نہیں ہوگا۔
مزید دیکھیے کہ سورۂ ملک میں سماء الدنیا کا ذکر آیا ہے۔ جب سماء دنیا کی بات کی جائے تو یہ بات مانی ہوئی ہے کہ سولر سسٹم، ابتدا میں دخان یعنی دھوئیں اور گیس کی حالت میں تھا۔
قدیم مفسرین بھی یہی کہتے ہیں کہ آسمان کا وجود پہلے رکھا گیا، پھر زمین کی تخلیق ہوئی، اس کے بعد آسمان کی ساخت کو مکمل کیا گیا، اور پھر زمین کو آباد ہونے کے قابل بنایا گیا۔ -
Science simply cannot provide the precise details. The verses do not describe the creation of the heavens; rather, they state that after the Earth was formed, the heavens were then separated into seven skies. This suggests that the Earth took shape first, followed by the development of the rest of the universe.
