  • Is It Permissible To Take Free Internet

I am seeking guidance on the permissibility of my participation in a Quiz. If I encounter questions I don’t know, I consult the Telenor quiz website online for the answers before submitting. I want to understand if this practice is acceptable from an Islamic point of view, as I am relying on outside sources for the answers.

If this is the Telenor MB quiz, then it’s not the same as cheating in an exam. It’s basically a promotional feature made to increase app engagement. If they haven’t clearly stated that searching answers online is prohibited, then technically you are not breaking any rule or contract.
So this would not count as a major sin or something serious. It’s not theft or fraud.
At most, it can be seen as slightly gaming the system, but these companies already design such campaigns knowing people might search answers. It’s part of digital behavior today.
Islamically, wrongdoing requires clear deception or violation of an agreement. If no condition says “don’t search,” then you’re not violating a binding rule.
That said, if someone personally feels it affects their integrity, they can avoid it. But there’s no need to overburden yourself or treat it as something sinful. So overall: it’s not haram, and it’s not a big moral issue.

It depends on the nature of the quiz and its rules.

If the quiz rules require you to answer on your own and outside help is not allowed, then looking up answers online before submitting would be considered cheating (deception). In Islam, cheating is not permissible. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever deceives us is not one of us.” In this case, it would not be permissible.
However, if the quiz is open-book or allows research and the use of online sources, then looking up information would be permissible, because there is no deception involved.
    The Islamic principle is simple:
If you are violating the agreed rules of a competition or test, then it is not permissible. If the rules allow it, then there is no problem.

I think Maria explained it well. For these app-based promotional quizzes, the main point is whether Telenor clearly says users must answer without help. If there is no such rule, then checking information online seems more like normal research than cheating.

Still, it’s better to be honest with yourself and not treat it like a serious exam or competition. Anyone who wants to quickly verify the daily question can check sources like https://telenortodayanswer.pk/ for the my telenor answer today, but the final decision should depend on the quiz rules and personal conscience.
