It is a common argument about understanding islam… people claim they follow the Prophet’s saying after understanding islam..
That is “maa ana alahi wa ashabi”….or the narration about following ” al khulfai rashdden al mahdiyeen”…
When these ahadees are referred as manhaj, does that mean the understanding of ashab is part of religion and can’t be disagreed with…
How do our scholars interpret these ahadees ..

It inherently means the unanimous way of practical Deen which the compassion adopted. Their differences of understanding and their administrative measures and ijtihadaat are not included here. Understanding can never be unanimous.
