Urwah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked Abu Bakr for Aaishahs hand in marriage, and Abu Bakr said to him: But I am your brother. He said: You are my brother according to the religion and Book of Allaah (i.e., my brother in Islam), and she is permissible for me (to marry). (Bukhaari, 4691).

In his commentary Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: Ibn Abi Aasim reported via Yahyaa ibn Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Haatib from Aaishah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent Khawlah bint Hakeem to Abu Bakr to ask for Aaishahs hand in marriage. Abu Bakr asked her, Is she right for him? Because she is the daughter of my brother. Khawlah went back and mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He told her: Go back and tell him: You are my brother in Islam, and your daughter is right for me. She went back to Abu Bakr and told him, and he said: Call the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). So he came and the marriage was performed.

According to above hadith, a marriage proposal to aisha was sent by prophet himself through Khawla…

    But Ghamidi saheb says otherwise,

    Plz clarify

Ghamidi sb says Khaula himself proposed the name of Ayesha to the prophet & prophet didn’t send her to abu bakr, while hadith says after seeing aisha in his dream prophet sent a proposal through khaula…

As a principle, there are many narrations in many books related to one specific incident and many times they contradict with each other because of lack of context and lack of timeline in them, among other things. The best picture can only be achieved once you collect all of those narrations related to one specific event and try to understand them in tandem instead of taking any one isolated narration and giving conclusion about it. This event could’ve occurred at any time after Khawla first sent the message or may be even before that (it doesn’t make any difference), we have no possible way of knowing the exact timeline of this incident. They were human beings, they would’ve interacted many times, not every interaction is documented in those books. If we understand the nature of those books, only then we can appreciate the true essence of Quran.

Ghamidi Sahab has said it several times that whenever quoting something as a history which is not an established part of history, one should always put a disclaimer that this is still zannay-ghalib and not a certain thing.
