  • Food Changing It’s Chemical Form And Non Food Products

How do we find out if let’s say a fatty acid is used in a food whether it has changed its form. Ghamidi sahab gave the example of if you bury a dead animal and a plant grows there. But the plant doesn’t grow from the animal itself.

Also how will we designate what is a food product and what isn’t. As I think Dr Shehzad Saleem said that enzymes don’t count as food products

Ghamidi Sahab’s primary point was that It’s for the experts to decide whether something has changed its chemical form or not.

And what about what counts as a ‘non food product’ like enzymes and some Even say gelatine

I think Dr. Shehzad Sahab has a valid point.

So enzymes and gelatine is halal no matter what?

And what is the matter if something has changed chemically or not? The source of the food is the same. What is an example then of something changing chemical form and going from haram to halal?

Haram and halal is not based on the source of the food, but the food itself. If you go back far enough in the chain, the source of everything material is the same.

Could you give an example so I can deepen my understanding?

      Example of what?

Food changing from haram to halal because it changed its chemical form

This is a principle, and it’s conceptual. If you burn anything long enough, all that will remain of it will be carbon. You can seek advice of experts of food chemistry to find out under what conditions what foods loose their fundamental properties. I’m not an expert in that area.
