Perpetuity of knowledge does play a role in acquiring knowledge but its truth is established when it gets ratified by Quran (as an independent source of Knowledge).

This is a remarkable documentary and a book and several YouTube videos by the writer. He has explained how and when exodus happened with real archeological evidence.
Established history means the history that is documented in a writing system. Hieroglyphics are pictographs and writing system. However, we can use pictographs to trace and track history. The sumerian writings also comprise established history. There is pitfall in this. We cannot be exactly sure about those writings so they have to be corroborated by archeology.
