Intercalated Calendar Vs Lunar
Some months have sepcifc names like jumada which means ‘dry’. So probably a hot season. So how could a lunar calendar make sense when the ‘dry’ season moves around the year? Wouldn’t it make more sense that an intercalated calendar would be used?

Rabi ul awwal means the first spring so how does it make sense that it occurs in the winter?

Because it is no longer used in literal meaning and has become a proper name of a month which has no bearing on its literal meaning anymore. This is how language transforms as well, by losing one shade of a meaning and adopting another related shades on a permanent and isolated basis.
One example could be seen in how word ‘khalifa’ travelled through different shades and adopted those shades in a permanent and isolated meaning.
