Tawaaf Of Safa Marwa Fard?
Al-Baqarah – 2:158

إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنۡ حَجَّ ٱلۡبَيۡتَ أَوِ ٱعۡتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَاۚ وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيۡرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
At 1 hr Engineer sahab says that the sunnah is that tawaf of safa and marwa is fard. But the Quran seems to say that this is not obligatory. Is there a clash between the Quran and sunnah here?

Quran is clear that this is a good act to do but not fard. The Hadith of Hazrat Ayesha indicates its importance which doesn’t make it compulsory. Quran is there to tell its status.

The Hadith says that ‘agar farz nehi hota to phir likha hota agar na karo to koi harj nehi’
Do we just reject this because the Quran is 100% clear this is not obligatory

This could have been the understanding of Hazrat Ayesha if the Rawayat is supposed to be correctly narrated.

So we can’t accept it?

So the interpretation of the Hadith would be that ‘it’s important- don’t just leave it for no reason’

we can’t. Quran is clear. so Rawayat has to adjust itself if possible or we have to leave it. The rule is same with other Imams too.
