salaam ki kya ahmiyat hai,ye ek dua hai ke aap per allah ki salamti ho lakin ye kahne wala khud aisa nahi chahta, jabki hadees me hai ke salaam karne se apas me taalluq badhta hai,relatives me sabhi log salaam karty hai phir bhi choti se baat par jhagdy badh jate hai ham practically aisa kyun nahi deehkty,ya salaam sirf culture hai.

To greet at the time when you meet or see someone is a Sunnah of Prophets. We see there is some sort of greetings in every culture and era.
Quran has mentioned that greetings in heaven would “May peace be upon you” Aslam o Alaikum, same greetings has been made Sunnah for deen e Ibrahim. Jews also say Shalom to greet each other.
It’s true not everyone means it when they say it, but that’s besides the point. Most people do mean it and customs and rules are not amended for occasional exceptions.
Main purpose it is to follow the Sunnah of Prophets.

ji aap ke ans ka shukria but hadees or islaam ko follow karne ke reasons hota hai,khuda or khuda ke rasool ne jo taleem de hai logical hai,kya kisi ko salaam karte waqt ye khayal nahi hona chahiye ke jab ise allah ne salamti de to mujhe bhi aapne amal se isko salamti deni chahiye.
