Who Sent The Quran?
Posted by A Hasan on December 14, 2020 at 2:48 amIs there any way for us to confirm that the Quran is not a part of a scientific experiment by aliens or some other civilisation? I’m just wondering if there’s any way we can refute this possibility.

Contributor December 14, 2020 at 5:24 amBut that would be a non academic way of looking at things. It’s a bias essentially. If someone comes and tells you ‘God told me this’ you will not believe it. What allows us to take this at face value

Contributor December 14, 2020 at 8:42 amOk. I’m not talking about the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم . I’m talking about the being that gave him the book and gave him the revelation

Contributor December 14, 2020 at 9:19 amI accept that the sender of the Quran is non human. That is what we can ascertain given the circumstances of its revelation and its contents. What proof is there that it was given by the ultimate creator who we term God, rather than an alien or higher civilisation as a part of an experiment?
That is my simple question. My personal stance is irrelevant in this case

Member December 15, 2020 at 6:32 amQuran was revealed to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and he asked the sahabas to write it down and since then it’s been transferring from people to people with no doubt just as any book of knowledge such as Pluto’s allegory of the cave. People know that is the book written by Pluto because every generation testified to that. If we challenge this then no knowledge of science or history or philosophy can be proved legit. On the top Muslims have memorized it by heart and recite it in their prayers which they prayed everyday and in qatamul lail or each ramadan. So once you agree upon that yes this is the book given by prophet Muhammad, then you can raise the question who gave it to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم . This is established history that Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not know how to read or write so it is legit that he was given the book some being. And to know about that being you read what that being is saying in His text. It can’t be a scientific experiment because at that age there was no concept of science whatsoever. Plus the sceintific knowledge can be challenged and can be improved once proved wrong. But this book is true to all his aspects weather if it talks about future predictions such as “gulibatil rum” or any established sientific fact such as “kalakal insan ma alaq” (which science discovered after a long long time). And if we talk about aliens so no foriegn creature has been showed up yet and claimed that it sent this book so no chance to think about it.

Contributor December 15, 2020 at 7:27 amThere is still a chance of it. We have the logical possibility of humans testing eg ants and other animals in controlled situations so we can do qiyas

For our limited human knowledge, we have no choice other than what Quran tells us and it is also proven by our intellects, historical facts and mushahida.
Religion is a matter of faith, and not subject to logic. Hopefully we will get all these answer in our life after death.
Another recommendation is Conversing Islam ep 9

Contributor December 15, 2020 at 9:48 amAdd the fact that it seems highly unlikely that the ultimate creator of the entire universe would send a book to some random assortment of atoms who are infinitely smaller than atoms to him.

Member December 15, 2020 at 11:07 amI think your question is very valid but unfortunately the human race is not advanced enough yet to determine that there is intelligent life out there anywhere in the known universe. Not a tiny shred of scientific evidence exists to suggest that aliens exist let alone the ultimate creator of the entire universe. So we have no other choice to rely upon thousands of years of human knowledge that has been claiming that a creator of this universe exits. Even science has not yet come up with absolute evidence to deny the existence of God.

Contributor December 15, 2020 at 1:14 pmWhat value does that thousands of years of knowledge hold in the face of an intellectual argument? God (an ultimate creator) definitely exists. But why would that ultimate creator (of the entire massive universe) choose to send books to tiny, truly tiny, isolated humans?

Member December 15, 2020 at 1:50 pmThat question cannot be answered until we know exactly the true nature of God. Unfortunately, there’s no way we can understand the true nature of God’s existence.
The main problem is the limits of human knowledge and understanding. We as human species are too inadequate and ill equipped to understand the entire secrets of this huge universe.
Moreover, we may not survive long enough as a species on this planet to fully understand this huge universe. So basically this whole idea of determining the true nature of God is a futile exercise and is bound to fail ultimately because human race is not gonna survive long enough ( one way or another). Maybe that’s what God also wants because if humans are able to discover the ultimate truth about God then that God would become kind of meaningless.

Contributor December 15, 2020 at 2:18 pmVery interesting. I agree.
But then what evidence or reason do we have to take the claims made in the Quran to be true; to be from the ultimate creator?

Member December 16, 2020 at 4:41 amI think Mr. Ghamidi will be better able to answer that question. My argument was more of a philosophical nature.

Member December 15, 2020 at 2:27 pmAll of the artificial intelligence related movies I have ever watched are now haunting me in a completely different way. 😅
On a serious note, if we find that out some millions of years later or each one of us dies, we still were worshipping the source of our existence? I mean that still makes us worshipping our God/Creator. Our purpose still remains the same regardless of who was behind it.
I hope Ghamidi sb answers this but we all know what he’d answer. 😄 But who could tell this brain to take a break!

Member December 15, 2020 at 2:43 pmBut right now, for my present life I would base my judgements or my trust on what is rather than what if. And this comes after accepting consciously Quran as a Divine Book.
And by saying ” why would that ultimate creator (of the entire massive universe) choose to send books to tiny, truly tiny, isolated humans?” you are truly degrading our place and rank in the cosmos! This entire cosmos is subjected to this man.

I guess we can wait for Ghamidi sahab’s answer.
I would still say, in comparison to the creator of this universe, we are insignificant

Member December 16, 2020 at 11:41 amI think it is relevant. If you are thinking that Quran is from aliens, then it means they are illah (naodho billah), so when we will know that then we will find their God 🙂

Contributor December 15, 2020 at 3:57 pmI have a counter-argument against myself!
This human being, the consciousness, the language and morality it possesses is also simply not of this world. Therefore it must be superhuman. The person who gave this consciousness and morality and language must be one. Because if it was more than one, there would surely be turmoil in the universe.
Therefore, it cannot be that some aliens are conducting an experiment by sending the Quran because the ultimate creator (who has to be one) has already affected humans on this Earth. So his continuation of this process of tweaking and talking and affecting humanity is but a likelihood that we would think of- which is then confirmed by the sending of scriptures.
Thanks all for the input and let me know if you think I’ve made a mistake somewhere

Member December 16, 2020 at 6:37 amI think there is two possiblity outside the Quran which can make us assure that from where the Quran, one if it is from God then God himself tell us outside the quran that it is from me, if it is from Alien then they tell us that it is from us

Contributor December 16, 2020 at 7:14 amI think my argument makes more sense because aliens can lie
-

Member December 19, 2020 at 12:06 amWhy u r assuming aliens can tell lie, lying is our human concept, if we found aliens may be they have totally different nature from us, maybe they have no concept of lying
