  • Does God Still Have The Power Of Creation?

Posted by Ahmad Shoaib on December 24, 2020 at 7:27 pm

God created the entire universe- all matter and energy that ever existed. But now, matter and energy are not created- they are preserved. Any creation of a human or a plant is from the same amount of matter.

Sure, the original creator of this matter could still be running the universe- but who is to say that he hasn’t lost the power of creation?

If I understood your quesio,n correctly then
Cosmologically speaking the law of conservation of energy and mass donot apply.
eg newtons law of motion says an object keeps moving uniformly unless acted upon an external force. But when we look expansion of universe, it donot seem tobe the case. Moreover, universe is expanding at more then speed then light which is contrary to physical law as we know of. Yeah they are trying to explain it with dark matter and energy but its just a theory and we dont know much about it.
Also, accroding to a simulation, our physical laws breakdown in 5th dimensions and mathematically 11 dimensions have been proved.

For a creation of matter, there is a theory in cosmology that something can be created from nothing(consequence of existence of antimatter). There is another theory that stress caused by universe expansion has ability to create matter. Also, energy can be converted to matter (Einstein equation e=mc2)
So saying all matter and energy has been created at begining of the universe donot make sense to me. Hence, saying creation power by God had ended is something beyond of our comprehension.

This may add Quranic perspective into your question:

But the evidence after pondering on the universe seems to be that no new matter is being created

These are all ongoing fields of study i.e. dark matter, antimatter, dark enery, blackholes etc. So its very premature to give any conclusive statement in this regard. Let’s say no matter can be created in this universe, but have have we already explored the whole of the universe, there are no conclusive data which can tell us about the shape of the universe with certainty and about it’s total size. There are sure some mathematical inferences drawn, but that’s all based on available limited data. And are we certain about the multiverses as of yet, and about the nature of matter there and whether new matter can be created in those universes or not. These are the forms of matter we are aware of, while we haven’t touched the ‘nafsi’ realm of knowledge as of yet and what principles are at work there and how do they interact with the matter. We know so much yet we know so less.

Although, this does not fly directly against any Quranic text (i.e. the new creation of matter). But from an academic stand-point, we should not give conclusive statements in matters which still require humongous studies yet to be accomplished.

All well and good but how wouldn’t it go against the Quran?

What do you think of your creation? Your matter or you existed forever? 🤔

Well yes that would be the theory- that the matter used for me was made at the Big Bang- but Umer sahab wrote above on this

also, power of creation is not limited to “matter only”, if it were you should be able to resurrect whoever you want (which you cannot) – there is matter + “something else” (God’s domain only – his Amar) that gives life….So, yeh he’s been constantly creating and is all powerfull like day 0 or 1

As Sohail Sahab very eloquently pointed out that limiting God’s creation to only that of matter (as we know it) is actually limiting God’s creativity potential.

Yes! I was thinking that humans have soul blown into them everyday and that’s a non physical entity.
