Apostasy: Taking Quran As The Constitution Of A Country
At 11 mins maulana sahab explains that if the Quran is the constitution of a country- a Muslim apostate would be committing high treason, the punishment for which is death. A question arises for this view. If a non-Muslim lives in a Muslim state, surely he is not denying the constitution as a law- so if a Muslim does the same and only denies the divinity of the constitution but not its authority to law then there should be no problem right? What is the traditional understanding in this case? Do they have some sort of other nuance in their argument?
