    3:19

The five prophets mentioned in the ayah are Rasools. These five are also called ullul azm paighambers , may peace be upon them all.

Hazrat Nuh AS was the first rasool.

Yes but why, when saying what religion was chosen, was Adam عليه السلام not mentioned?

Not in this ayah. If we notice, Prophet Adam AS preached to his kids and direct Dhuriyat. His responsibilities were different.

Yes but to say the religion given to you is that given to Noah implies that perhaps the prophets other than him or before him in different communities had another religion. Unless 3:19 is taken as a foundation and then 42:13 just relates the rusul

Quran has to be read and understood holistically. Quran verse 2:213 is very clear about one religion from the beginning of mankind.

It talks about mankind being one nation. It doesn’t say that was the Islam of today. Even if we see the bible the Jews had to uphold the sabbath (I don’t think the Arabs did) and we don’t have that in the Islam of today.

Please read verse 2:213 in the context as well. One nation is used in reference to the ideology of the mankind, which means religion in the greater context.

As sister Afia mentioned, the sharia has changed. Sharia are simply laws derived from the principles of the underlying ideology suitable for people of a given time. Prophet Muhammad SAW being the last prophet, now the sharia we gave is intended for the rest of the time.

Yes I understand they were on one ideology but was that ideology the same as the Islam we have today?

Sharia has changed ok. So only ideology and imaniyaat are transferred. Then salah, hajj, fasting and zakah (with its specific rates) seem to be perfect for an Arab tribal community in which days are of equal length throughout the year (fasting), people wake up a little before sunrise for work, the Kaaba is right next door to them and they don’t have to travel so far. So how could we have the same sharia in this drastically different community and society- and how could the rules of 14 years ago apply now and until the day of judgement?

Salah, hajj, fasting and zakah all have remained the same as well.

The religion is same but shariah is different.

Shariah is surely part of the religion. What fundamentals of Islam were transferred. Quranists would say just tawheed

I would say all the imaniyaat.

I’ve heard some ppl claim it was also salah and the Quran does hint to this in surah bayyinah

There would be no doubt then if it is mentioned in the Quran. There is no other source for us to confirm. The more problematic to me are the ones who claim that Salat starts in Shariah e Muhammadi.
