I have heard that sajda of respect is not haraam- what about bowing like in martial arts?

I think it is the purpose or intention of Sajdah that matters not the act. I was a little surprised when I read in Quran that Prophet Yousef’s brothers prostrated to him in Egypt when they found out that he is the brother they threw in the well.
