    Salam,

What acts make ghusl obligatory? especially when emission of semen happens

    1. either one is awake or when one is asleep (with or without sexual arousal, but no physical contact with the spouse)

    2. after urination

    Thank you.

Ghusul or ceremonial bath is required before salat in the following instances:

    1. Ejaculation through sexual intercourse or otherwise. This can happen while awake or in sleep.

    2. Menstruation or puerperal discharge.

Urination doesn’t require ghusul. Also if there is a small involuntary discharge after urination it doesn’t require ghusl.

Thanks @faisalharoon … but need little more clarification

    Regarding 1 …

So, merely a discharge of semen requires a ghusl? What if it’s just a small involuntary discharge (few drops) e.g. due to a sexual desire- psychological arousal

If there is a small involuntary discharge it’s not considered an ejaculation. How small is considered small is for the individual to decide keeping in mind that cleanliness is required.
