    Al-Mulk – 67:3

What is the meaning of inconsistencies when it comes to eg the sky? One could say that the ozone layer is damaged in some places because of the creation of God that is humans.

And as for fault one could use the same argument of the ozone layer is not working in those areas to protect us from uv radiation.

Or do we have to see the bigger picture that all of these things serve the purpose of the creation which is to test. The ozone layer is damaged and this harms people with health issues and mental problems which cause tests. Is this interpretation more correct?

Inconsistency is in terms of proper balance of the universe, how everything is working perfectly in the right order for this universe to stay stable in a way that environment of earth teems with life.

Please refer to the video below from 7:53 to 10:02

But what is the perfection related to? What is the yard stick upon which we judge this perfection? Is it the fact that the universe allows life to exist? If so earthquakes and tornadoes cause life to die. Or is it that the ozone layer stops uv radiation, saving lives, because then humans, another creation of God have destroyed some parts of it.

Or is it how well the creation allows for a test?

Could you perhaps comment on earthquakes and tornadoes and why they wouldn’t be considered tafawut or futur?

How do earthquakes and tornadoes cause a futur or tafawut in the workings of a universe with everything in a perfect symphony and coherence so as to enable life as we know it. Earthquakes and Tornadoes or any other disaster happening on earth have to do with test of life and death, of which both reason and timing have been left to uncertainty.

It depends on your metric. What would a flaw or potential inconsistency be? Is the yardstick perfection in sustaining life or is it to do with how it fits in the test?

it is the same perfection that created life on this earth and its the same perfection that is still sustaining the same life. Yes, it depends on the metric, and I don’t see earthquakes and tornadoes even remotely comparable with the holistic balance at cosmic levels leading to both creation of universe and its sustenance.

So there couldn’t be a universe with no earthquakes? They are still there and you can’t just ignore them

One could argue that there could also be a universe with no death at all, but that is not the scheme of test and trials we’ve been put through. Because this is not the kind of inconsistency Quran is referring to. It is referring to the overall nazm of universe, which is both keeping it stable and resulting in conditions conducive to life on earth.

If the metric is how good life can be sustained I agree that there is nazm. Not to sound like a broken record but surely the earthquakes snd volcanic eruptions are not conducive to life.

If the metric were just how well it fits for the purpose of the universe which is a test then that would make sense but I don’t know if we can interpret it that way

First of all, there would be no life on earth without volcanoes and earthquakes. Argument that these phenomena are not conducive to life are baseless.

Secondly, one has to look at the big picture. Earth is just a temporary place where people are being selected for their final abode. Death in this world is just a transition to a different state of life. Those who make such arguments equate life with people being born on this earth and death with destruction of life – that’s certainly not the case that God is making – in fact quite the contrary.
