    If we go with the narrative that aad and thamud were pre abrahamic tribes then how on earth would they be a hujjah against the quraysh for the night an evidence of God’s punishment? Imagine if I say ‘do you know the xyz tribe 2000 years ago was destroyed by God?’. How does this make sense?

    They accepted the fact that they were destroyed by God for their misdeeds. That was why they never argued that it was not the case as described by the Quran.

      Didn’t they call them ‘tales of old’? So they did kind of say the same thing as I described above

    They accept the whole stuff as it was narrated both by Quran and their oral tradition, and then reject it out of arrogance.
