Quran 41:9-12 – 6 Days For Creation Of Earth

Why did it take God 6 days for earth and only 2 days for the universe. So 3 times more time for earth which is just a sand speck as compared to the universe we know. Or is that we are mistakenly referring 7 heavens as universe.
The question is isn’t it beyond human reasoning and intellect that Earth a dust speck as compared to the universe was given 6 days and universe a mere 2 days even if it is for just perfecting it?
Say: is it that you deny Him who created the earth in two days and do you join equals with Him? He is the Lord of all the worlds. He set on it mountains standing firm, high above it and bestowed blessings on the earth and measured therein all things to give them nourishment equally for all the needy. All this took four days. Then He directed His attention to the sky [ie this universe] and it was in the form of smoke at that time and said to it and to the earth: Obey are commands willingly or unwillingly. They said: We are present [before you] in willing obedience. So He completed them as seven heavens [universes] in two days and revealed to each heaven its duty. (41:9-12)

Based on this verse you are implying that, heavens were created after earth.

We can infer that 4 days (Not our solar days) were used to optimize earth surface to sustain life till day of judgment.

First of all, the word “youm” here is used in the meaning of stages or periods. What is referred to in Quran verses 49:9-12 is that the earth was created in two stages, and so were the heavens. Also that it took four stages for earth to sustain life.

There’s nothing counter to reason here. There’s no other celestial body in the universe with such an immaculate system to sustain life. Even science explains various stages in the formation of the universe and life to begin. If it took four aeons to sustain life on earth it should not be a matter of doubt, but in fact it should provoke the question in a rational mind – why?
Quran is not a book of science. It presents these facts as evidences for God and His warning. In short, the warning is about the end of this world, after which a new universe shall be created and new life shall begin. Those who pay heed to the warning and prepare in advance shall have an eternal life of joy and comfort, while those that don’t shall be subjected to difficulties and torment.
