Were Nuh صلى الله عليه وسلم’s Progeny The Only People Left?
As-Saffat – 37:77
Arabic
وَجَعَلۡنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
I think people would usually take from this ayah that his progeny was the only one left. But why take the ayah like that? It seems very clear that there could’ve been many nations and being the ‘baaqeen’ would be in reference to his nation.
In that they thought they would stay and nuh صلى الله عليه وسلم would eventually leave or die but in reality he and his progeny remained
